All offices for the City of Granbury will be closed for regular business on Tuesday due to inclement weather. City management is keeping a close eye on the weather and driving conditions to determine if there will be further closures.
Other important updates include:
- As of this printing, Granbury Emergency Services will only provide services to utility, fire and police emergency requests. Citizens can call 911 in these cases.
- Rolling blackouts continue to plague portions of Granbury and Hood County and will persist through at least Thursday.
- ERCOT issued an EEA Level 3, Monday, because what was thought to be 10,000 MW of lost power generation may be as much as 30,000 MW of generation sidelined due to power sourcing limitations (renewables, gas) or equipment freeze offs.
- The City’s garbage and recycling contractor, Waste Connections, which had pushed Monday collections back to Tuesday, pushed that date back to Thursday.
- Residents with garbage and recycling collections on Thursdays or Fridays will maintain their regular collection schedule. “We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause within the communities, and we will service everyone as soon as the weather permits,” said Waste Connections District Manager Sean Dowden.
- The Granbury Independent School District’s plan previously announced for this week continues to be in effect. Tuesday will be a bad weather day with no school. Both Wednesday and Thursday will be remote instruction days with alternative assignments. Campuses and teachers will be contacting all students and families on Tuesday regarding specific instructions.
