The City of Granbury congratulates Council Member Skip Overdier on earning the prestigious “Certified Municipal Official” designation from the Texas Municipal League Institute—a recognition that directly benefits Granbury residents.
In March, Overdier was named one of only 30 city officials statewide to complete at least 72 hours of continuing education in 2024. This accomplishment reflects his dedication to staying informed and effective on the issues that matter most to the community.
Through advanced training on topics such as open government, economic development, ethics, finance, infrastructure, leadership, and legal issues, Overdier is better equipped to make decisions that strengthen local services, support smart growth, and ensure transparent and accountable governance.
“Council Member Overdier’s commitment to continuing education helps ensure our city leadership is well-prepared to address both current challenges and future opportunities,” said City Manager Chris Coffman. “This kind of dedication directly supports our mission to serve the citizens of Granbury with integrity and innovation.”
