Title: Public Information Officer
Phone: 817-573-6764

I started my professional career in public relations in 1990 with the U.S. Army, where I was a photojournalist and Public Affairs Office supervisor. During my eight exciting years in the Army, I traveled the globe covering the military writing hundreds of compelling news and feature articles and taking thousands of gripping photos to go along with them. While enlisted I was also invited to attend the Army's prestigious Advanced Photojournalism Course, a three-month-long, super-intensive Master's-level program taught at the University of South Carolina, where I was the course honor graduate.

After my honorable discharge, I returned back to Texas and my studies. I graduated in 2000 with a BA in Public Relations, and now have a masters degree in Public Administration; both from the University of Texas at Arlington.

I am currently serving as the Public Information Officer for the City of Granbury, Texas. I have been with Granbury since April 2020, and am living the dream in this great city of nearly 10,000 people. Granbury is vibrant, fun, historical yet modern and is a SUPER challenging job. I am in charge of three different websites, a TV and radio station, media relations and filming for the City.

One of my other most recent positions in PR was with OCG Public Relations, where I was the Senior Account Supervisor for the $1.4 billion Interstate 35 Expansion program. In that capacity I worked with eight different municipalities, two county governments and three federal and state government entities. I also worked the previous eight years for the City of Fort Worth, where I was a Public Information Officer that worked very heavily with local media. I am also very experienced in working to build and foster ties with community leaders and community associations and civic groups through my experiences with the City of Fort Worth and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

I am experienced in fostering positive public experiences and relationships for my employers throughout my work history. In the past I had articles and photos published in many newspapers, trade magazines and B2B publications. Throughout my career, I have written in the AP style in both magazines and newspapers, and in news releases that have been printed throughout the Western Hemisphere.
