DURING THE COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY, AUG. 6 AT 6 P.M.

-City Council will set the date, time and place for a public hearing to receive public input on the City of Granbury Proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Annual Operating Budget.

-Discuss the proposed 2024 property (ad valorem) tax rate for the City of Granbury, and vote on the proposed tax rate not to exceed $0.3850 per $100 valuation to be placed on a future agenda for adoption.

Public comment time is available for both items.

Be Aware of the Bikes

Please take extra caution on Saturday (Aug. 3) beginning at 7:30 a.m. as hundreds of bicyclists ride around Granbury and Hood County in the Blazin' Saddle 75. It begins and ends at Granbury Middle School, next to the Granbury Regional Airport.

The four courses run approximately 20 miles, 47 miles, 100K and 75 miles. Rides will be completed by 2:30 p.m.

Tips for Drivers

-Stay alert.

-Be on the lookout for cyclists on the highway, especially at intersections.

-If you're passing a cyclist, move to another lane if possible and give them plenty of room.

-Watch for cyclists who may need to maneuver around potholes and debris.
