Crockett Street projects
begin Mon. Jan. 23
Construction beginning Monday, Jan. 23 on one side of the Historic Granbury Square will close a section of Crockett St. but will complete two major projects at once. Beginning Monday, Jan. 23, Crockett will be closed from Pearl St. to Bridge St.
“Contractors brought in by the City will be relocating a very old wastewater main that is under Crockett Street. Some of these lines pre-date the oldest sets of plans available,” said Rick Crownover, Granbury Assistant City Manager. “The goal is to not only make the wastewater system more reliable, but also increase its capacity in the area.”
There are numerous different types of utilities in the area. The contractor is going to be extra cautious throughout the project that they do not accidently cause utility interruptions.
“Following the wastewater upgrade on that section of Crockett, we will rebuild the street from Pearl to Bridge St.,” Crownover added.
All sidewalks and crosswalks will be open throughout the project, which is expected to be completed toward the end of March 2023. During the construction period, please use alternate routes.
“We scheduled these projects to have minimal impact on businesses and tourists in the area. Thanks in advance to everyone for their patience,” said Crownover.
