Trash Collection rate increases

The City of Granbury’s contract with its trash collection vendor, Waste Connections Lone Star, allows for consideration of a Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustment. The CPI is a measurement of the average change in prices consumers pay for a set of goods. 

Recently, Waste Connections requested a rate increase of 7.76 percent, in accordance with the CPI. At their April 5 meeting, City Council approved the request, with new rates for residential, commercial, and roll-off trash services going into effect June 1, 2022. 

Residential Current Rate $15.07   New Rate $16.24
Small Business Current Rate $38       New Rate $40.95
Large Business Current Rate $85       New Rate $91.60
Small Restaurant Current Rate $85     New Rate $91.60
Large Restaurant Current Rate $100   New Rate $107.76
