At the April 20 Granbury City Council regular meeting, the mayor and city council named Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics Academy at Mambrino 5th grader Alana White as the second Honorary City Councilmember of April 2021. White is the daughter of Alan Davidson and Debora White and is the big sister to her brother Hayden and her sister Janell.
White’s teachers at the STEAM Academy describe her as an amazing student who exemplifies leadership, compassion, and a positive attitude. In her nomination packet, they said she is kindhearted and an absolute joy to have in class, is a true role model for other students, and is quick to help others when she sees a need. Finally, they said she is dependable, reliable and trustworthy, which is why she is such an excellent fit to serve as Honorary Councilmember.
During White’s interview by Mayor Nin Hulett, she had the council chamber audience rolling with her answer to his question of “what do you like to do when you’re not in school,” with “mainly what I like to do is play on my electronics … unless I’m grounded!”
For her outstanding character and personal qualities, White received a proclamation from the mayor and council, as well as an official “Granbury” lapel pin.
