[ARCHIVED] Brazos River Authority Donates Lifejackets to City Beach Park

BRA Loaner Lifejackets

The City of Granbury happily received 25 “loaner” lifejackets of all sizes and colors for the City Beach Park’s Loaner Lifejacket Station on April 22, from the Brazos River Authority and Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.

“The loaner life jackets were made available to the BRA through Safe Kids North Texas, led by Cook Children’s Hospital,” said BRA’s Kyle Lewis, the Project Manager and Program Coordinator for Lake Granbury. “This is the second year we’ve partnered with (them) to make loaner lifejackets available. They support us in many of our water safety and drowning prevention programs.”

Christy Allen, the City’s Parks Department Aquatics Manager and Event Coordinator gladly welcomed the donations and remarked on how needed they are.

The Brazos River Authority and Carter Blood Care will also be sponsoring a drive-thru “Water Safety Awareness Day,” on May 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, at 4552 Mambrino Highway, Granbury, where they will be giving away 180 children’s lifejackets and other water safety tips and goodies. Carter Blood Care will host a blood drive at the site from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. that same day. You can sign up for the blood drive by scanning this QR Code:
