At 3 p.m. today, April 29, a single gate will be opened at Possum Kingdon Lake for a total release of 9,000 cubic feet per second. Granbury citizens and lake users should be on alert for rising water conditions in the Brazos River. Communities along the Brazos River, including Hood, Somervell, Parker and Johnson counties may be affected.
Increased inflow may cause additional gates to be opened. For more information concerning gate releases, please go to the BRA website, www.brazos.org, or visit any of the BRA social media accounts.
Actual flood conditions may vary significantly from the alert based on new or changed conditions; advanced alerts of changed conditions may not be possible. If you are concerned about flooding or the potential for evacuations, contact your county or local sheriff"s offices.
