[ARCHIVED] Noise Ordinance Public Workshop Moved to Feb. 25

COG Logo - transparent background

Due to inclement weather, the workshop seeking public input on a possible Noise Ordinance scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers has been canceled and rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25 at the same time and location.

The attached map shows the target area for the noise ordinance. Impacted residents who have property, or live within or near the target area, are requested to participate in this workshop. Specifically, the City is seeking information regarding the volume level of music from businesses in this area.

Changes to the City’s Noise Ordinance may need to be made in the future, so the City needs residents’ feedback to help with these areas:

1. Identify and prioritize noise concerns, and

2. Develop clear and enforceable thresholds for noise generation

City staff will use the meeting’s feedback to draft any needed adjustments to the ordinance before bringing it to the City Council for final consideration. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be limited seating at the meeting. The City will be following CDC guidelines for this meeting to ensure proper safety protocols. Those planning on attending the meeting are requested to RSVP to comdev@granbury.org
