The City of Granbury's building permit numbers for January were released today, and except for one category, Residential Building, most categories saw substantial growth from the same time last year. The Residential Building category skewed the trend, as there was a monster hailstorm in October 2019, which caused the permits for new roofs to spike in January 2020.
Of the building permit categories, eight showed substantial growth from the same time last year. These included:
- Building Plumbing (Residential) permits – from 20 to 43
- Right of Way permits – from 5 to 16
- Certificate of Occupancy permits – from 13 to 21
- Irrigation permits – from 1 to 29
With the December 2020 moratorium's approval on development, the number of building permits is likely to flatten over the next 90 to 120 days. But as today's numbers show, the growth in Granbury is significant.
These numbers, and those from previous months and years, can be found on the City of Granbury website at www.granbury.org/1004/9815/Monthly-Building-Reports.
