[ARCHIVED] City Hires Operations Manager for Lake Granbury Conference Center

Mike Linnabery

The City of Granbury has hired Mike Linnabery as the new Operations Manager of the Lake Granbury Conference Center. Linnabery is an expert in customer service and has extensive experience in event facility management. His background includes many important elements of event logistics and contract oversight.

Linnabery will report to Tammy Dooley, Director of City of Granbury Convention & Visitors Bureau – Visit Granbury.  “We are thrilled to have Mike as part of our tourism team at the LGCC. He brings great experience with facility management, event logistics, food & beverage and most importantly customer service,” she said about his hiring.

Professionally, he has served as the Director of Operations for Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center where he managed hiring, training, and oversight of staff, as well as worked on expansion projects. Linnabery also worked as the Sales and Finance Manager for Granbury Motor Sports where he expanded product lines and helped increase profitability.

Most recently, since 2015, he and his wife, Lori, owned and operated Inn on the River Executive Retreat Center in Glen Rose, Texas. At Inn on the River, Linnabery brought in many high-profile groups with customized guest experiences. Under the Linnaberys’ leadership, Inn on the River was rated online as one of the top hotels in Glen Rose.

Linnabery was born in Irving, Texas but raised most of his life in Sugarland, Texas where he graduated from William P. Clements High School. Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) followed, where he majored in Recreational Administration and represented the university as a varsity cheerleader. Michael went on to attend Tarleton State University in the College of Education and moved to Granbury in 1997.

Linnabery’s interests include long distant running, motorcycles, travel, and boating. His wife, Lori, is a nurse in Glen Rose, and they have four children together ranging from sixteen to twenty-nine years old.

Sales Executive

Additionally, the City has also recently added another member to the Lake Granbury Conference Center team – Sales Executive Crystal Douglass.

Douglass, a native of Granbury, is energic and driven in addition to being an experienced customer service professional. She most recently worked as the Event Coordinator for the Pecan Plantation Country Club, helping event planners and brides create spectacular events.

Douglass will work on Linnabery’s team to help bring in business to the venue and support events booked at the Lake Granbury Conference Center.
