City of Granbury’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Director Tammy Dooley was elected to the Texas Association of Fairs & Events Board of Directors at their annual Conference January 10-13.
The Texas Association of Fairs & Events was formed in 1926 to provide inspiring leadership, create agriculture and education opportunities, and develop strategies and techniques that enhance and advance the fair and special events industry. The association is led by a volunteer Board of Directors, who are elected by their peers. Dooley was selected to the Texas Association of Fairs & Events Board of Directors after being nominated for one of two open director positions. Dooley will serve on the board with some of the top event professionals in Texas.
“Serving on this board is an incredible opportunity! I am looking forward to serving in this role as Granbury’s CVB Director,” Dooley said, “This is a fantastic organization that represents many wonderful cities and events across the state, and it is truly an honor to represent the hardworking women in the event industry.”
Additionally, at the conference Dooley submitted her final requirement to receive the Texas Event Management Institute (TEMI) Certification (formerly known as the Texas Event Leadership Program). The certification provides in-depth training for event organizers, as well as an invaluable network of professional event organizers and experts.
