Tuesday, November 7 is Election Day, and the City of Granbury is opening American Town Hall as a gathering place for the community to watch Hood County’s election returns for local results.
Over the years, community members have often gathered on Election Day to watch returns. Following the format of previous years’ events, the City will host the November 7 election return gathering at American Town Hall (220 N Travis St). Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and will remain open throughout the evening as election returns come in.
Plans to hold this community event at American Town Hall have been aided by technology in use by the City of Granbury and Hood County. Team members from the City and County Information Technology Departments and Granbury Media are collaborating to bring timely election returns to the public, both at City Hall and at home.
With Hood County’s program that takes information from Hood County’s voting centers and posts them to the County’s website in real time, the public can get timely election results from any internet accessible device (http://www.co.hood.tx.us/682/Election-Results).
Thanks to Granbury Media’s live streaming capabilities, the local Election Night event will be broadcast live on television and the internet simultaneously. Those who cannot come to American Town Hall on Tuesday night will be able to watch election results on the City’s cable channel (Charter channel 190, U-verse channel 99) or online at https://livestream.com/GranburyTV/Elections2017. Election Night coverage begins at 7 p.m., which is also when Hood County will begin to post election results online.
