Download .pdf of brochure and donor form here.

Memorial Tree Program

Honor someone special by having a tree planted for them in a city park. Choose from Live Oak, Red Oak, Chinquapin Oak, Chinese Pistache, Crape Myrtle and Desert Willow trees. These trees are favorable for North Central Texas.

Benefits of Planting Trees
By planting trees in the city we beautify the community, help reduce erosion of topsoil, by wind and water, moderate the temperature, clean the air; and create a source of joy and spiritual renewal.

Memorial Tree Cost
  • 30-gallon tree: $250
  • 15-gallon tree: $150

Tree Plaques
Donor must supply a 4-inch by 8-inch (4”x 8”) bronze plaque. Engraving must conform to prescribed format. Cost to install plaque and surround with concrete is $75.00.

Planting
City staff will plant trees between November 1 and March 1 of each year. Donors may select a specific park site for the planting, but the tree’s exact location will be determined by the Parks and Recreation Department. The City cannot guarantee a specific planting date.

Granbury Dog Park
Want to donate a tree in honor of a favorite family pet? Now that’s possible. This program follows the same guidelines as the Memorial Tree Program except a display board with name plates will be positioned in a central location at the Granbury Dog Park.

Memorial Bench Program
The Memorial Bench program offers two bench styles to choose from. One is a painted green cast iron bench, and the other is a light brown recycled plastic park bench. Park benches can be installed any time of year, weather permitting. The exact location will be determined by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Memorial Bench Cost
Fees include supply and installation of selected bench.
  • 6-foot green, painted, cast iron bench: $1,725 ($1,625 on existing concrete)
  • 6-foot brown, recycled plastic bench: $700 ($600 on existing concrete)

Bench Plaques
Donor must supply a 3-inch by 6-inch (3”x 6”) bronze plaque. Engraving must conform to prescribed format.

Memorial Certificate

Once the memorial tree or bench has been installed, a certificate and a map showing the approximate location of the tree will be mailed to the mailing address specified on the application form.
