[ARCHIVED] Granbury Town Square Streetscape Construction to Begin February 6, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: January 30, 2017
Contact: Bethany Kyle, Public Information Officer, bkyle@granbury.org

Construction on the Granbury Town Square Streetscape Project will begin February 6, 2017. The City of Granbury has contracted The Fain Group, Inc. to construct the Granbury Town Square Streetscape, Pavement, Drainage & Pavement Marking Improvements.

Construction will start with Phase 1, which will begin at E. Bridge St. & N. Houston St. Work will not start on another phase until the previous phase is complete. This will ensure that only one intersection is closed at a time. During all phases of construction, special care will be taken to make the businesses on the square retain their accessibility as much as possible.

Construction will mostly take place during the day. However, on occasion workers will be working at night to avoid interruptions to local businesses during daytime business hours. Drivers should follow posted detour signage around the construction at all times.

The project is expected to take at least 140 working days and scheduled to be completed in September 2017. The City will continue to release updated information as needed as the project moves to new phases.

The City of Granbury was awarded a grant for the streetscape improvements on the square as part of the State’s Transportation Alternative Program (TAP). The project involves sidewalk, lighting, street and landscaping improvements on the square.

Any additional questions regarding the project should be directed to Director of Public Works, Rick Crownover at (817) 573-7030.
