The City of Granbury will host a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, to provide information regarding the potential sale of the city’s electric utility system. The meeting will be held at the Granbury Resort Conference Center, 621 E. Pearl Street, in Granbury.
At its February 25 regular meeting, Granbury City Council approved a resolution calling a May 10 Special Election to authorize the sale of the city-owned utility. Voter approval is required by the Texas Government Code.
Should the ballot measure pass, City Council may elect to offer the utility for sale via a competitive, sealed bid process. Citizens with questions about the potential sale are encouraged to attend Monday night’s town hall meeting.
