Council Member Rodriquez Not Seeking Re-election

Communications & News Releases Posted on July 21, 2025

Granbury City Council Member Eddie Rodriquez has announced he will not seek re-election when his current term ends in November 2025.

"After much thought, prayer, and conversations with my family and close friends, I've decided I will not seek re-election at this time," Rodriquez said. "Serving the people of Granbury has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life."

Rodriquez said one reason for his decision is to encourage and make space for new leaders to step forward.

"I believe in the strength of our community and the importance of encouraging others to serve. By stepping aside, I hope to create an opportunity for fresh voices and new energy on the Council."

Rodriquez has dedicated more than a decade to serving Granbury residents in various roles, including on the Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Charter Review Commission, and the Planning and Zoning Commission. He was elected to the Granbury City Council in 2019 and re-elected in 2022.

In a news release, Rodriquez said he has focused his service on responsible growth, infrastructure needs, and preserving the values that define Granbury.

He is leaving the door open to future public service. "While I won't be on the ballot this cycle, I'm not ruling out future opportunities to serve."
