The City of Granbury congratulates Captain Timothy Ray "Tim" Hallman of the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department (GVFD) upon earning the prestigious Master Firefighter Certification, representing the elite of the fire service.
Out of approximately 34,000 Texas firefighters, less than 550 have achieved this certification. Currently, GVFD has five master firefighters serving as officers.
Capt. Hallman has served Granbury and surrounding communities for 13 years--responding to thousands of 911 calls and completing over 1,500 hours of training. In addition to his service with the GVFD, he also serves on the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to improving Granbury.
The Master Firefighter Certification is awarded by the State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas. Achieving this distinction requires at least 10 years of service, Firefighter II certification, and 400+ hours of advanced training across multiple categories.
