The Business Retention and Expansion Interview Program (BREIP) is the City of Granbury Economic Development Department’s newest way of helping local companies get stronger and expand.
By the end of May, BREIP will interview approximately 25 companies to gauge the business climate in the City and Hood County. It will reveal businesses with plans that range from expanding their operations to those which may be considering leaving the area. The City’s Economic Development team will activate support and retention efforts.
"The City of Granbury works hard to support our local businesses,” said Chris Coffman, City Manager. “Launching BREIP is a significant step in building a stronger, more resilient and diverse economy that benefits city and county residents."
Fort Worth’s Chamber of Commerce does hundreds of BREIP interviews each year. “Their program is successful, so we asked Netty Matthews of the Fort Worth Chamber to train our volunteers,” said Lance LaCour, City of Granbury Economic Development Director. “Our program started with three volunteers: Brian Bondy from the Granbury Chamber, Reba Bacon of Workforce Solutions, and Mike Gifford from Pinnacle Bank. More will be trained.”
A BREIP meeting takes only twenty minutes to gather information about a business. The data will also be used to paint a picture of the area’s business climate.
