Responsibilities
The Municipal Court Judge presides over trials and hearings, levies fines, sets bails, accepts bonds, issues arrest and search warrants, administers juvenile magistrate's warnings, and arraigns prisoners for misdemeanor offenses.
Municipal Court Administration provides support to the Municipal Court Judge, collects fines, fees and state court costs, schedules court hearings, generates production of arrest warrants, maintains records relating to court proceedings, and reports various statistical data to the state.
Objectives
- Ensure that all who appear before our court are treated with dignity and respect
- Serve the people of Granbury, Hood County, and the State of Texas
- Stand between the individual who has been accused of an infraction of the law, and the law enforcement agency that has made the accusation, and to ensure that the individual and the state receive a full and fair hearing
- Work with parents and teachers to encourage and motivate our young people to excel in school
