Electric Vehicles Charging Stations

The City of Granbury has been in the pursuit of a rare grant opportunity that imposes essentially zero fiscal risk. The North Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) has been given approximately $13 million dollars in federal grant funds in a Call for Projects to install charging stations for Electric Vehicles (EVs) to distribute across 16 counties, of which 170 sites are already being considered. The growth of EVs in the state of Texas has been staggering. As of last year alone, over 300,000 EVs have been registered in Texas, with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) projecting this number to increase to 770,000 by 2029.

NCTCOG utilizes the interactive map in the link below where residents can be a part of nominating the two ideal sites proposed by the city for public charging infrastructure. Our community has a strong history of being successful with online surveys and with these awards. Your participation today can help strengthen our application for this grant.

Please click the link below, search Granbury, and follow the online directions to nominate the two areas for our proposed grant:

1. The parking lot at City Hall (116 W Bridge St) with the Direct Current Fast Charge (DCFC) charging type (4 charging stations).

2. The parking lot east of Visit Granbury (301 E Pearl St) with the DCFC charging type (4 charging stations).

To participate, please click the “Add Marker” button on the bottom right corner of the map to nominate the two proposed locations and provide a public comment. The form will also ask for other information such as name and email that are not required, but you are welcome to provide.
