The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has again presented their Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the City of Granbury. This is the nineteenth consecutive year that the City has been honored with this award.
Mayor Jim Jarratt presented the award to City Manager Chris Coffman and the City’s Finance Team during the August 17 City Council meeting. Eva Gregory is the City’s Finance Director, Misty Shaw is the Assistant Director, Cassie Bethune is a Financial Analyst, Rachel Hamatani is the Finance Clerk, and Katie Moses is an Accounting Specialist.
“The award reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting,” according to the GFOA. “In order to receive the budget award, the entity had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device.”
The Mayor praised the Finance Department Staff for not only their outstanding budget presentation, but for maintaining that quality during an extraordinary year.
“The budget is a year-long process,” Coffman said. “We are extremely proud of the Finance Department. It is another example of the level of excellence we have throughout the City.”
