Application Process

The Historic Preservation Commission in accordance with Section 6.2 and 6.3 of the City of Granbury Zoning Ordinance, is comprised of seven members who review certain architectural and aesthetic enhancements within the historic preservation overlay and historic compatibility overlay districts. The Commission's review is based on adopted design guidelines for new construction, reconstruction, and maintenance. If approved, the Commission issues a certificate of appropriateness to the applicant.

Property owners may make application for review to the Historic Preservation Commission on application submittal deadlines provided in the Historic Commission calendar. The calendar also provides meeting dates whereby the applicants, and public, are invited to hear the Commission's deliberation regarding the request. All open meetings are held in the City Council chambers in Granbury City Hall.
